Fargo Health Startup Featured In National Pitch Competition TV Show

Fargo-based health and wellness company Checkable Medical Founder Patty Post appears in the latest season of the David Meltzer TV series 2 Minute Drill. The show is a pitch competition style format where five entrepreneurs get 2 minutes to pitch their business to a group of investors and business experts who then judge the pitches and decide which of the entrepreneurs will receive up to $50,000 in cash and prizes. The show was created by David Meltzer, a businessman who co-founded Sports 1 Marketing and is the author of several bestselling books about business.

Patty Post applied to the show to pitch her company, Checkable, and the first of its kind At-Home Strep Throat Test Kit. The kit, if FDA-cleared, will be the first strep test available for use at home. “The idea for the At-Home Strep Test Kit came from my own personal struggle having to spend hours taking my children to the walk-in clinic every time they had a sore throat,” says Patty Post. “After seeing the doctor perform the rapid test at the clinic and noticing how easy it was to run, I wondered why there wasn’t a simpler solution to save people time spent away from work and school.” With that idea, Checkable Medical was born. Currently, At-Home Strep Test Kits are undergoing a clinical study to prove their safety and effectiveness. “Once cleared for home use by the FDA, this will be a tool available to test for Strep A (the most common form of Strep throat) that can be found online or at your local drugstore so you can have answers in as little as 10 minutes,” says Patty.

Patty’s 2-minute business pitch, where she pitches the At-Home Strep Test Kit to the judges, will be aired on the latest season of the 2 Minute Drill. “I wanted to be on the show because it’s a great opportunity to bring awareness to what we are doing and validation that what we are doing will meet the market needs,” says Patty.  The show will be released on Bloomberg TV on April 8th. 2 Minute Drill is also available on other streaming platforms such as Apple TV, Roku, and Fire TV.
